Evening Shift Technical Lab Supervisor $15,000 Sign on Bonus

Chester County Hospital is looking for an Evening and Night Shift Supervisor. This key position oversees evening and night operations in hematology, chemistry, microbiology and blood bank in our state of the art hospital lab. Primary duties include direction of the staff, scheduling, performance evaluation and competency assessment. Hours are primarily 3:00 to 11:30, but some day shift and overnight hours may be required for training and to interact with the staff. We are seeking an individual with at least 5 years’ experience who is knowledgeable about all key sections of the lab. Strong instrumentation skills required and experience with Beckman chemistry, Sysmex hematology, Stagos coagulation and Ortho blood bank methodology preferable.


Responsible for directing operation of the laboratory on the second and third shifts. Ensures departmental compliance with appropriate licensing and accrediting bodies. Maintains a high standard of quality and professionalism. Strives to achieve accurate and timely results. Exercises financial stewardship by acting within budgetary guidelines. Assures compliance in hospital and departmental policies. Authorized by the laboratory director to perform testing (and result reporting*) in the clinical laboratory for which they have been proved competent. Works under minimal supervision for specimen processing, test performance, and result reporting.

  • Credentials:

    • Medical Lab Scientist ASCP
    • MLS(ASCP)CIM or other equivalent certification.

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • Biological and Chemical Sciences 2+ years Clinical lab experience. 2+ years Experience managing high volume clinical labs while meeting superior customer satisfaction expectations preferred. Must meet requirements as a general supervisor under CLIA-88. Additional education and or training in Management or Lab Management preferred.
