Description

Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The HIV Prevention Navigator reports to the Ryan White leaders. S/he is responsible for assuring quality HIV Prevention services are provided at Penn Medicine specifically promoting the use of PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) for prevention of HIV infection. The HIV Prevention Navigator will work directly with patients currently prescribed PrEP as well as promote to use of PEP and PrEP with new patients. The Navigator will field incoming calls to the PEP Center of Excellence (COE). The Navigator, along with the HIV Prevention team at Penn (HIV Lead Physicians from PPMC and HUP) will establish a campus-wide campaign to promote PrEP at Penn and work with designated Medicine practices who want to expand their prescribing of PrEP. The Navigator will also work closely with the HIV Care Navigators and HIV Lead Physicians to work to promote PEP and PrEP in the Emergency Department and Medicine practices. S/he is responsible for implementing and assuring that proper documentation and activities are in compliance with appropriate agency, city and funding regulations as stipulated by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. This is a grant funded position and continuation of the position is 100% contingent upon continued grant funding.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health or related field and 2 plus years work in the Social Service field. Masters Degree preferred. Certification in HIV Prevention Counseling preferred.
