Summary:

The Clinical Operations Administrator will be the administrative leader for the Division overseeing the clinical practices at multiple locations. This Administrator will work with Director, Division Administration in the division and DOO to align and facilitate enhanced patient experience outcomes, implement qualitative and quality improvement initiatives, advance divisional efforts to develop care pathways for patients needing advanced care in the region and support the achievement of UPHS, CPUP, Department and Divisional goals. Reports directly to the Director of Operation(s), with a dotted line to the Director, Division Administration. This individual will oversight of ambulatory practices, including the direct management of Practice Managers, and staff members. This position will work with Director, Division Administrator and Director of Operations, DOM to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including the evaluation to expand the Division; and identify opportunities to implement standardized best practices across our practices to improve access, operational effectiveness, and enhance patient path ways to care. Additionally, this position will have responsibility to oversee operational metrics to support business objectives in alignment with the UPHS Mission and Penn Medicine.  

    Responsibilities:

     • Implementation of recruitment plans, as developed by the Division and the Department for clinical services. 

    • Develop operational analytics to ensure the Practices are optimizing all opportunities to enhance access and patient care outcomes. 

    • Provide leadership in the development of accurate, consistent and timely financial analyses and ROls. 

    • Oversees efforts to improve optimal billing practices that align with local and national governance 

    • Provide leadership in the processing of data requests from appropriate sources. 

    • Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate information. 

    • Works with clinical effectiveness team physician leaders to implement and sustain safety event analyses 

    • Understands regulatory compliance issues which affect the system and department, including OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, AHCA, etc. and ensures that department and personnel maintain compliance at all times. 

    • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures 

    • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization  

      Credentials:

      X Highly collaborative individual who can establish relationships with a variety of publics -- physicians, Departmental and Divisional leadership, Hospital leadership, and other Medicine colleagues. 

      X Strong program budgeting skills, particularly as they relate to building new programs and generating revenue, are highly valuable. 

      X Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple priorities. 

      X Strong communicator who has the ability to speak to data and metrics in ways that are engaging to faculty and other constituents. 

      X The ability to manage and develop talent is critical to the candidate's success  

        Education or Equivalent Experience:

        Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline) is required; 

        And 5+ years 5 to 10 years previous managerial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting

        Master's Degree   preferred
