Summary:

The Perioperative Assistant provides supportive care to selected Penn Presbyterian Medical Center patients under direction and supervision of the professional nurse and clinical coordinator. Will transport patients and their items, equipment, specimens and supplies, to and from PACU, SPU and OR. Cleans, disinfects, and sets up Operating Rooms prior to surgery. This position also requires getting the proper equipment for procedures. Maintains the environmental area of the locker rooms, lounge, coordinator's office perimeter of OR and PACU.

Procedures performed in the Surgical Services Department include: general – including robotic procedures, ENT, spinal, ophthalmic, oral, cardiac-including robotic procedures, thoracic – including robotic procedures, trauma, neurosurgery, vascular and endovascular, urological – including robotic procedures, orthopedic, pain management, podiatric, plastic, oral and maxillofacial and gynecological operative and other invasive procedures.

    Credentials: 

    The qualified candidate must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Required to read, write and speak English. Previous perioperative experience preferred.
