The Staff Assistant is the primary administrative support for the growing Section of Hospital Medicine. Located at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, this position will also interface with stakeholders at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Good Sheppard Penn Partners and the Philadelphia VA. This individual will be a critical interface between the Section’s faculty and staff and its stakeholders. Candidate must be organized, resourceful, take initiative and demonstrate excellent follow through. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent grammar and spelling a must. Candidate must be a team player and exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a variety of assignments. Candidate must also be comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness. Excellent computer skills and highly experienced in Microsoft Office products needed. Position is responsible for (illustrative only): completing reports, planning meetings and other special events, management of calendars and preparing requests for disbursements. Comfortable interacting with patients (via phone) as well as working within an electronic medical record. Epic (PennChart) experience strongly preferred.
