The Department of Neurology specializing in Epilepsy is looking to hire Surgical Clinical Nurse Manager for their practice. Please review the Summary, Responsibility and Educational requirements below, we would like to meet you if you meet those minimum qualifications.

Summary:

The Epilepsy Surgical RN Manager provides clinical oversight and direct patient navigation of the epilepsy surgical population through the Penn Epilepsy Center. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, Neurology and Epilepsy Division Chief, the incumbent will have oversight of the development and implementation and day to day administrative functions of the epilepsy surgical program ensuring coordination throughout the patient continuum in collaboration with associated epilepsy multidisciplinary teams. The scope of this work includes anticipating and facilitating multimodality dynamic scheduling for patients, triage services, development and reporting of key metrics, and coordination of care across specialties and services such as radiology, neurosurgery and inpatient administrative teams. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for staff development activities including but not limited to: team professional development, recruitment and retention
    • Oversee clinical operations in the practice including budgeting (where applicable), clinical project management, strategic and operational planning, quality, regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, CMS, DOH, OSHA) and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Patient Care: Provides oversight to team as it relates to the seamless delivers great quality care and great service using effective processes and tools
    • Communication: Fosters an environment where proactive communication and problem solving is expected. Establishes communication expectations that enable high performance of team and individuals
    • Learning: Leverages knowledge for competitive advantage and developing team members through application of Penn Medicine research, continuous improvement, performance management, and competency development

    Credentials:

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
    • Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
    • ACLS or PALS (Required)

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Required)
    • Masters of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
    • Nursing 5+ years total clinical experience including RN and prior leadership experience
