Penn Presbyterian Medical Center has a Quality Improvement Coordinator opening for our Trauma Department

Position Description:

• Monitors and evaluates the quality of clinical care for trauma patients from pre-hospital through discharge.
• Maintains trauma service performance improvement database, prepares and presents data analysis of local, state and national data trends. Collaborates with Division, Hospital, State and National stakeholders to develop and monitor processes to improve trauma patient outcomes.
• Monitors compliance with Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation and ACS standards related to quality of care (PTOS audit filters/PTOS complications)
• Maintains all Performance Improvement Program documentation including but not limited to: Patient Performance Improvement files, Morbidity & Mortality and Video Review program minutes, Weekly Performance Improvement Meeting minutes and agendas.
• Assists with education of nursing, physician and other allied health students who complete clinical rotations with the Trauma Service.
• Participates in Trauma Program Hospital Nursing, State and National committees as a Divisional Representative as needed.
• Works collaboratively with CEQI, Nursing and Physician leadership on performance improvement projects to improve processes to optimize patient outcomes in critically injured patients.
• Member of the PPMC Trauma Executive Committee to engage in strategic planning and steer trauma center and system development for PPMC.
• Validates concurrent, accurate and compatibility of our Trauma Center Performance Improvement data and the trauma registry database. Assures the integrity and security of trauma patient is maintained at all times.
• Coordinates the dissemination of patient follow-up information to: transferring hospitals and trauma centers, private community physicians, EMS agencies, PPMC clinical services involved in trauma patient care.
• Coordinates aspects of the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation site survey accreditation visits and follow-up in collaboration with the Trauma Clinical Programs Administrator and Director.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications for position:
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
• Active PA RN License required
• Five or more years’ RN experience required
• Experience in Trauma care, management princples, and resource management required.
• Experience in managing/coordinating physician’s practice preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills required
