GENERAL SUMMARY STATEMENT

Works directly with Manager of the Encore Shop assisting in coordination of Shop operations. This includes opening, closing, staffing levels, staff/volunteer training and orientation, Shop appearance, financial accountability, record keeping, final merchandise selection, merchandising and customer relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with Manager to effectively utilize available resources to efficiently manage daily operations. Supports Manager in ensuring that staffing levels are consistent with workload.

Identifies concerns as needed to ensure quality services and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Applies all policies consistently. Seeks counsel with Manager or Encore Committee leadership when necessary.

Readies Shop, including consignment area for opening on time. Secures areas for proper closing. Follows established guidelines for opening and closing.

Effectively troubleshoots problems with computer system. Notifying Manager appropriately. Supports employee and volunteer computer questions and concerns.

Is responsible for all consignments, purchases and donations, including selection, pricing and merchandising. Consistently performs all technical duties, such as consigning, customer check out, tagging, etc. accurately and competently.

Ensures that the Encore Shop, Office and work areas are neat and orderly.

Serves in the Manager’s place during vacation and sick leave. Works closely with Encore Board to ensure that all operations, including financial duties are covered during this period.

Pick up and deliver mail to and from Post Office.

Assists Encore Shop Manager in preparation of an accurate annual Shop budget.

Works with Manager to maintain expenses within budgeted limits.

Cooperatively seeks new opportunities for revenue growth and expense reduction.

Encourages, supports and when appropriate, implements suggestions for improving the operating efficiency and quality of the Shop

Is vigilant, about safety and is customer relations conscious, as well as maintaining established security measures and possible shoplifting threats.

Works cooperatively with Manager to prepare consignment payouts, and accurately prepare daily cash deposits

Works with Manager to inventory, maintains and purchases all supplies necessary for Shop operation.

Assist in development and implementation of Marketing efforts using Social Media (Facebook, Instagram)

Education Training and Experience:

Retail experience preferred.

Demonstrate ability to navigate Microsoft systems as well as ability to learn Resale World REACT software.

Able to demonstrate skills as Facebook administrator.
