Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Penn Presbyterian Medical Center's Department of Nuclear Cardiology at the Philadelphia Heart Institute is seeking a Per Diem Nuclear Med Tech to perform nuclear cardiology testing on patients.
Position Description:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Handling, injecting and recording the use of radionuclides within Radiation Safety and the NRC/DEP and DOT guidelines
Scanning and processing studies using nuclear cameras and equipment
Performing IV placement
Conducting patient interviews and history
Confirming orders and appropriate study
Producing paperwork, charts and billing information for each patient
Taking proper precautions to ensure patient and personal safety when working with radioactive materials
Following all regulations and protocols at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Please apply if you possess these qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent level of education required
Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine program with board eligibility required
Certification with CNMT and/or ARRT(N) or be eligible within 3 months of employment
CPR certification required or must be obtained in first month of employment
Must be able to place IV’s using proper techniques and precautions
Accurate calculation, recording, and injection of radio-pharmaceuticals required
Skillfully acquire and process nuclear scans
Knowledge and ability to QC and use all nuclear equipment – hot lab, cameras, etc.
