Summary:

The Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for the operations of the assigned division and staff (technicians and pharmacists). Responsibilities include, but not limited to: remaining aware of operational and clinical issues, ensuring compliance with USP 797/800 and other regulatory standards, developing and sustaining relationships and partnerships with the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient services, partnering with the Investigational Drug Service staff to ensure appropriate research practices are followed in the ambulatory practices, maintenance of staff performance evaluations, division schedule management, staff development, workflow evaluation and coverage/support for the ambulatory UBCP program. In addition, the Coordinator is required to maintain clinical and technical competence to provide staffing coverage (when needed)

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a professional image and serve as a positive role model for staff.
    •  Provide optimal pharmacy service to patients and other health care professionals.
    •  Participate in activities to improve pharmacy services.
    •  Designs, recommends, monitors, evaluates and documents patient and age-specific pharmacotherapy.
    •  Forecasts staffing requirements and supplies needed to accomplish goals.
    • Monitors and makes necessary adjustments to program operations to assure quality of services.
    • Prepares and dispenses medications using appropriate techniques to ensure outcomes of drug therapies and following the health system’s policies and procedures.
    • Assumes responsibility for the adherence to the medication-use policies and guidelines.
    • Manages time effectively to fulfill practice responsibilities.
    •  Complies in all activities with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements for a specific practice setting.
    •  Use effective listening skills and allow others to convey ideas.
    • Communicates effectively with direct reports.
    • Written communication is clear and concise.

      Credentials:

      • Pharmacist (Required)
      • Pennsylvania Pharmacist License at time of hire

      Education or Equivalent Experience:

      Bachelors of Science or Pharm D from an accredited college of Pharmacy

      2+ years of pharmacy experience
