The Department of Physical Plant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Business Manager:

Summary:

  • Oversees all Accounting and Budgeting aspects of the Department of the Physical Plant.
  • (Physical Plant: Oversees the Physical Plant Storeroom, all Accounting and Budgeting aspects of the Department of Physical Plant and the Hospital's Way-Finding Program).

Responsibilities:

  • Performs key financial planning services including results reporting, performance analysis, program evaluation, forecasting, modeling, facilitation of capital and operating budget processes while promoting effective and efficient controls
  • Manages the production and distribution of monthly financial reports for the Department of Physical Plant and Hospital Utilities for the HUP Complex, the PCAM Complex and Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse.
  • Monitors daily business transactions, accounting activities including accounts payable processing, direct report payroll processing, monthly variance analysis, contract management and billing compliance.
  • Works with the Assistant Director of Facilities Operations in developing programs, services and initiatives to anticipate future customer needs
  • Manages the activities and staff of the Storeroom as well as the Accounting Clerk.
  • Maintains way-finding and signage for the HUP Complex, the PCAM Complex and the Penn Med at Rittenhouse Complex.
  • Ensures set-up and review of the inventory to confirm accurate cost and quantities on hand. Develops and maintains purchasing and invoicing tracking reports to ensure all costs are captured

Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • Accounting/Business 3+ years accounting experience preferably in a hospital/medical center setting  (Required)
    • 3+ years Supervisory / Leadership responsibility experience (Preferred)
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices (Required)
