Job Summary:

  • The Financial Analyst Information Systems is responsible for processing invoices and purchasing requests, preparing month end close entries and reporting, and assisting the team with any ad-hoc requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares month end closing entries and reviews entries prepared by Corporate Finance.
  • Provides analysis and reclassifies entries for closing.
  • Processes Purchase Order (PO) requests for operating and capital items.
  • Processes invoices.
  • Runs reports for month end close.
  • Follows up on status of payments and PO completion.
  • Prepares monthly invoices for multiple practices.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization. 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance OR a Master's Degree/Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and 2 years of experience in accounting/finance (Required)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and management
  • Able to deliver clear and concise presentations to varied audiences
  • Knowledge of monthly financial statement closing processes including variance and flux analyses
