Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Courier to work in the Pharmacy department.
A member of the pharmacy department support staff who assists in the provision of pharmacy services as authorized by the NJ State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations. Responsible for assisting pharmacy operations focusing on medication storage and safety on the nursing units. In addition, appropriately supports the pharmacy technicians in delivering medications to support timely medication administration.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Makes routine patient medication deliveries to nursing units throughout the scheduled work shift.
2.During routine deliveries, remove medications dispensed to discharged patients from nurse servers and return them back to pharmacy inventory.
3.Accurately count and take inventory of medications to be collected and delivered.
4.Ensure that documentation corresponds to each item delivered.
5.Ensure proper medication storage at all units (e.g. deliver medications to patient’s nurse sever from tube station).
6.Assist “stat” requests for medications delivery including controlled substance drip via phone
7.Promptly delivers chemotherapy products to inpatient and outpatient areas.
8.Ensure that recipients sign delivery receipts and medications are verified.
9.Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
10.Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the Pharmacy Department; collaborates with other caregivers/staff, within and outside the Department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and service.
High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent Work Exp required
Associate’s Degree preferred
