HIM Revenue Cycle Project Coordinator

Summary:

  • The Revenue Cycle Project Coordinator is responsible for analytics, training and strategic consulting to support the Corporate Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement and Central Fee Abstraction teams. Responsibilities include budget reconciliation, invoice/budget tracking and monitoring, accurate AU distribution and variance explanation. This position manages projects to improve the revenue cycle by strategically planning, directing and coordinating activities to help the system wide HIM, CDI, and CFA with their business revenue operations, clinical documentation and technical needs through assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the HIM Management team on the annual budget creation, submission and presentations
  • Responsible for the monthly accrual to ensure proper allocation of resources for planning and expenditures. This includes validating for accuracy and appropriate distribution by AU, entity and departments. Compare actual to budget results at the end of each period and report on significant variances to Corporate Accounting Department. Examine whether budget submissions can be achieved and inform management of potential problem areas throughout the Fiscal Year
  • Coordinate capital budget requests, propose enhancements to budget tracking, propagate the approved budget throughout the organization and explain issues as requested
  • Assists Revenue Cycle Manager with summarizing revenue cycle standings and dashboard metrics related to the revenue cycle on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Generates a daily report of outstanding revenue based on missing documentation by entity and reason. Distribute data to the entity CFO and leaderships and the VP for Patient Accounting
  • Prepares root cause analysis for Coding, Operations and CFA reporting metrics at the department level for quarterly finance review
  • Reviews and assess supporting analysis and calculations for revenue cycle month-end review
  • Obtain coding, auditing and related data from Epic or other coding/auditing platforms to support Coding Manager and Central Fee Abstraction team
  • Provide support toward best practice Epic optimization for coding
  • Monitor vendor performance and accuracy and contract terms across the enterprise, working to ensure smooth operations and maximum value is derived
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special assignments as requested by management
  • Manages critical revenue cycle projects related to operations for HIM and Central Fee Abstraction; creating dashboards, tracking meaningful data for current state and assist with planning for future state.

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • 3+ years Finance or Revenue experience required.
