Senior Financial Analyst - HUP

  • The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for coordination and review of all hospital related productivity statistical reporting, hospital admissions, PT days etc. This includes Key Indicator Reporting for Senior Financial Leadership. Work with Operational Management with timely communications and provide a customer service orientation of financial services to all constituencies. Provide timely and accurate service to Department Directors and CFO’s, Administration, Asst. Controller, Controller, CFO and other customers during the monthly close and budget process.

  • Coordinate and prepare in conjunction with accounting team internally and externally distributed financial data including monthly financial presentation package, profit/(loss) analyses, Outpatient revenue valuation; and department requests for accuracy and reasonableness. Prepare ad-hoc analysis to assist HUP Accounting Team, Sr. Leadership in better understanding monthly financial results. In addition, responsible to Compile and maintain all documentation/rules related to Statistical reporting with Hospitals Directors. Monitor monthly performance of new/existing business arrangement - Quarterly where indicated. Review and Build of Hospital NPR Hierarchy and rules in PM for seeding into NPR Budget Application and ensure reconciliation. Coordination and Review monthly statistics, admissions, PT Days etc. for accurate reporting, unusual trends, and resolve exceptions.


  • Prepare necessary analysis to determine feasibility of requests.
  • Ensure accurate gross charge and statistical mapping and appropriate counts to GL in conjunction with Department Directors.
  • Finance liaison to work with Department Directors, and Director of Revenue Cycle in reporting billed charges and identify any unusual trends/issues that could impact charge capture reconciliation.
  • Audit requests and Monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Outpatient revenue valuation.
  • Responsible for the valuation and accurate reporting of new/existing business models for profitability and discuss observations for Proton and Car-T.
  • Responsible for System interface reconciliations for EPIC, Lawson GL.
  • Responsible for analyzing any discrepancies with SDS for PM to HUP P&L reconciliation.
  • Review and coordination of monthly business objects reports and enhancements recommended. Manage and build ad-hoc requests for EPIC Reports.
  • Work in coordination with Asst. Controller, Controller and Director of Cost accounting for new cost centers assignments.
  • Create and Maintain SharePoint site for distribution.
  • Perform special projects as required. Work with Supervisors, Asst. Controller, Controller in resolving problems related to standard financial issues and practices.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Finance, Accounting or Information Technology 4+ years experience in a Finance department, with a progressive accounting and budgeting, for a Healthcare System. 5 to 7 years in Finance/Accounting with progressive accounting and budgeting experience
