Position Description:
Emergency Department Registrars tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Patient Registration
Insurance verification
Coordinating and managing a positive customer experience
Guiding the patient through pre-encounter and pre-certification activities i.e. reservation process, financial counseling, insurance verification
Providing on-going support for the ER as it relates to hospital based services
Serving as the Managed Care liaison
Performing accurate, efficient and timely scheduling of all reservations into the EPIC information systems
Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, as well as enjoy interacting with patients and coworkers in a busy customer service environment
Minimum Requirements
Please apply if you possess these qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent level of education required
At least two years of experience in a hospital setting and/or customer service experience required
Competent computer skills and the ability to learn new computer systems required
Working knowledge of basic medical terminology, third party billing and patient scheduling in an automated environment preferred
