  • The responsibilities of the Assistant Nurse Manager include, but are not limited to coordination of all activities of Penn Digestive and Liver Health Center (PDLH). This includes collaboration with the Endoscopy Nurse Manager, Endoscopists, Central Processing Manager, Regulatory, Infection Control, Pharmacy and the Lab to manage all aspects of patient care, utilization of department personnel, fiscal responsibility and material resources.


  • Patient care: development of policies and procedures, assists with development of education, participates in clinical care
  • Communication: positive and effective interpersonal relations with all members of the team, proactive in responses to all queries, in a timely manner, mentors new staff, and exhibits leadership in problem solving
  • Quality Improvement: actively participates in QA, supports shared governance model, develops appropriate metrics related to PDLH initiatives, and insures efficient and effective operations through compliance with institutional and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Fiscal management: aware of the financial needs of the service, designs and implements actions to maintain fiscal responsibility of PDLH, identifies scheduling conflicts and resolves proactively, reviews inventory levels with material management
  • Regulatory awareness and readiness: PDLH will be surveyed annually by DOH and every 3 years by JC, must maintain survey readiness at all times, hold quarterly meetings and keep complete and accurate minutes
  • As ANM, the role will also be responsible for all the Director of Nursing responsibilities of PDLH, all of which are described above
  • Manage and communicate to the staff working at PDLH and main endo, a conduit for both units


  • Registered Nurse - PA

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
  • And 3+ years of progressive nursing experience and demonstrated leadership skills
