Penn Presbyterian Medical Center has Trauma Chaplain opportunity.

Position Description:
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center's Pastoral Care is a cornerstone of the Penn Patient Experience and the Trauma Chaplain provides care of patients and families according to an interfaith model of Patient-Led Pastoral Care. Promoting visitor and patient satisfaction, and working in a cooperative, sensitive and non-judgmental manner as part of a departmental team and with other hospital employees. The Trauma Chaplain is responsible for responding to trauma calls during weekdays (daytime), providing follow-up care for all admitted Trauma patients, and monitoring the overall care of trauma patients in coordination with the Manager of Pastoral Care. Under direct supervision of the Manager of Pastoral care, the Trauma Chaplain will work with the Manager on departmental operations, initiatives/events and direct patient care, and may cover for the Manager in certain circumstances as necessary and directed.  Additionally, may be needed for back-up coverage to include evening and/or weekend coverage in special circumstances and may care for patients in all age groups.
Works with the PPMC Manager for Pastoral Care on general departmental operations and projects and, in the absence of the PPMC Manager for Pastoral Care, may be asked to oversee/cover departmental responsibilities for non-Trauma as well as Trauma patients.
Participates in departmental systems for back-up and emergency coverage during evenings and weekends, in cooperation with the PPMC Manager for Pastoral Care, and remains reasonably available during evenings and weekends for this purpose.
Works with chaplain residents/CPE students from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's Pastoral Care Department, participating in their orientation to PPMC, monitoring their documentation, and helping with certain debriefing sessions and educational programming, together with the Manager for Pastoral Care.
Keeps appropriate documentation (e.g., the electronic medical record and department records).

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Theology preferred, not required       
At least 3 years of progressive experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy required, with significant experience with trauma. 
Master's Degree in Divinity or pastoral counseling preferred
Essential Skills-
Strong verbal/written communication and advanced computer skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with diverse groups, including working across religious lines and with people who do not identify as religious/spiritual.
Must be well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to be flexible, calm, and handle multiple tasks in a  fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to be objective, articulate, even-tempered, and to respond appropriately to unexpected situations. 
Must have a sound understanding of safety requirements.
Ability to communicate with patients and families about their illness/hospital experience.
Capacity for conflict de-escalation and resolution.
Ability to work with chaplain residents, in their residency program.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a team environment with fluid communication.
Skill/experience with the action-reflection model useful to clinical discussion of pastoral care cases.
