The Philadelphia Heart Institute at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center has an onsite Administrative Assistant opportunity.
Summary: This role provides administrative support to a team of Cardiologists who perform outpatient procedures. This includes scheduling patients, working with insurance companies to confirm eligibility, and keeping track of physician credentialing needs. The successful candidate will be organized, resourceful, take initiative and demonstrate excellent follow-through. Must be articulate and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be comfortable with multi-tasking with close attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness. Strong computer skills; experienced in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite. Proficiency expected in Electronic Medical Record software after training is provided.

  • Verifies insurance for patients.
  • Assist in re-credentialing, re-appointments, etc. Store Physician licensure and certification information. Keeps track of physician credentialing and licensure information.
  • Compares clinic schedules to make sure patient schedules are closed/open.
  • Check mailbox daily and sort for doctors.
  • Answers office phone line. Take care of any calls they can and transfer or contact other parties if necessary.
  • Work in rotation to schedule new patients.
  • Proofreads post-appointment letters before being electronically sent to outside practices.
  • Obtains medical records of new or existing patients.
  • Coordinates recruitment for physician applicants.
  • Organizes and assembles materials for meetings.

Requirements

  • 2 plus years of related experience.
  • Executive Assistant experience encouraged.
  • High School diploma
  • BS or BA preferred.
