Job Summary:

  • The main role of the Physician Advisor is to serve as a consultant to all members of the organization regarding appropriate utilization of hospital resources and third party payer interactions. The Physician Advisor participates in the daily review of cases for appropriateness of acute care stay, and provides the final review of all potentially denied cases. The Physician Advisor interacts with the CMs, Social Workers, faculty and house staff, and third party payers in the prevention and appeal of third party payer denials.

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of Clinical experience required
    • Working knowledge of third party payer guidelines required.
    • Current MD License required
