Why Join Our Team?

Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to work the night shift within the Transitional Care Unit (TCU). TCU and the Emergency Department (ED) are collaborating using a new split flow model. The split flow model allows emergency services to continue delivering care to arriving patients while the newly admitted patient is handed off to the TCU RN. TCU is a virtual care unit and is imbedded in and adjacent to the ED.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • TCU RNs + assistants are caring for patients who are waiting for an inpatient bed to become available. Patients may also be discharged from TCU if plan of care is completed before a unit inpatient bed becomes available.
  • The patient’s plan of care and treatment will begin in the TCU.
  • Patients are receiving the same level of nursing care as they would on a Unit.
  • TCU Staff falls under the Float Pool umbrella, so during times of low ER volumes they may Float to Similar Units.

What We Require for this Role:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of

 

Related Work Experience

  • 15 months of RN experience required

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Active NJ RN license required
  • National Nursing Certification preferred
