Summary:
- The Lead Central Sterile Processing Technician ensures appropriate and continued flow of equipment and instrumentation through Central Sterile Processing on assigned shift. Maintains quality processes on assigned shift. Assists with annual Competency Assessment. Participates the onboarding of new employees. Provides feedback to Manager relative to staff performance. Performs duties as a Central Sterile Processing Technician.
Responsibilities:
- Leads department operations on assigned shift, prioritizing requests and Operating Room needs. Supports staff throughout the shift ensuring tasks are complete and Operating Room requests are satisfied. Ensures effective communication between shifts. Performs Quality Control checks; trends and analyzes concerns. Provides orientation for new staff; participates in on-going education of staff. Responsible for proper cleaning and disinfection of medical instrumentation using appropriate methods. Assembles instrument sets and trays following proper manufacturer instructions. Properly documents and maintains sterilization records. Participates in departmental Quality initiatives and in-service training. May assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the manager.
