Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn Medicine is looking for an Advanced Practitioner (AP) to work full time, three 12-hour shifts per week of straight night shifts or a rotation of days/evenings/nights. Clinical shifts will primarily be in one of our Emergency Departments (ED) in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, specifically Pennsylvania Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Presbyterian Medical Center, and HUP at Cedar.
The Advanced Practitioner will provide safe, high-quality, comprehensive care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic emergency department. The patient mix varies greatly from medium to high complexity, and the Advanced Practitioner will see patients independently as well as work in collaboration with an attending physician. The Advanced Practitioner will complete focused histories and physical exams on patients, order and interpret labs, EKG/telemetry, imaging and other diagnostic studies, perform wound care, incision and drainage, suturing/staples, splinting, among other procedures, initiate medications and treatments, and coordinate patient care with other discipline's consulting services.
A successful AP will have strong, independent medical decision-making skills, advanced skill in multi-tasking and have the ability to adapt well to changing environments. Minimum Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner or Masters prepared Physician Assistant, Pennsylvania License and DEA required
3+ year of CRNP or PA experience preferred in emergency medicine
BLS/ACLS/PALS required
