Summary:

  • Performs necessary services within the Rheumatology Department in order to achieve efficient operation and maximize appropriate utilization of professional staff. These services include varied clerical functions in support of the successful operation of the practice. Common duties include scanning paper items into the electronic health record (EHR), preparing records and other documents for mailing, shredding/document disposal, and other light tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Scans records, files and patient-supplied materials into correct charts.
  • Shreds or deposits documents and other materials in designated receptacles for disposal/destruction.
  • Assists with patient movement within the suite(s).
  • Provides support to providers, staff and patients as requested (and appropriate).
  • Cleans equipment, dusting, sanitizing as necessary.
  • Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department to enhance patient care and service.
  • Participates in unit compliance as related to established standards.

Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
    • Or Graduation from a similar program/school. And Similar experience in a medical office/practice environment preferred
