Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Department of the Physical Plant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Multi-Skilled Plant Operator at the Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse location:
Responsibilities include:
• Maintenance, installation and repair of commercial / industrial HVAC systems and HVAC & Boiler equipment.
• Testing and preventive maintenance on HVAC related equipment.
• When needed, work with 3-phase Electric and be able to troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
• Experience with Plumbing systems; Carpentry and Lock repairs; Painting, Patching and Wall Coverings is a plus.
Minimum Degree Requirements and Experience Required:
High School graduate or equivalent is required and a minimum of two (2) years of specialized training for HVAC. A minimum of 4 year’s full time HVAC experience with a bona fide HVAC contractor or employer required. Experience in Healthcare facilities is preferred.
Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required:
A Philadelphia Engineer’s “A” License or equivalent license is required. Candidates that do not have the required licenses at the time of hire must obtain the Philadelphia Engineer’s Class “A” License and have it filed with the Physical Plant Department office within 180 days of employment. A CFC license for handling low tonnage (chillers) cooling equipment must also be obtained with 180 days of employment.
