Summary:

  • Responsible for compiling and presenting Hospital, Health System, competitor and market information that will support Administration's strategic decision making process. The Strategic Planning Analyst will extract, summarize, analyze and present strategic information to a number of audiences including CCH Administration, CCH Program Managers and Department Directors and Penn Medicine Corporate. This Planning Analyst role interacts with the Strategic Decision Support Teams at both Penn Medicine Philadelphia and Lancaster General as we strive to consolidate and standardize reporting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and compile data from multiple disparate sources and translate data into meaningful, actionable, information. Sources include Penn Chart, HPM, Tableau (SDS), Truven Market Expert, DVHC, CCH custom patient pivots created by Finance (CB Intelligence Architect) and other.
  • Assists in the auditing of internal data metrics and reporting.
  • Assists in the development of the departmental report formats and information delivery strategies.
  • Is proficient in MS Office Products: Excel, Power Point and Word and MapPoint.
  • Crates reports in Business Objects.
  • Generates select monthly, quarterly and annual reports including Patient Activity, Physician Activity and Market Share as well as custom special analysis requests.
  • Independently chooses the appropriate report format for the information that is being presented, I.e. text table format, charting, and mapping etc.
  • Analyze, summarize and presents report findings.
  • Communicate effectively with the “Customer” (report requestor or end user) and understand the broader implications of the information request for custom reporting and analysis. The Planning Analyst will assist the requestor to define the scope of the information available, not necessarily just what is asked for.
  • Provides training and assistance to end-users re automated reports and dashboards (both CCH & SDS generated) that the user may access on a timely, “self-serve” basis.
  • Prioritizes work load and adapts to rapidly changing priorities.

Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • Business Management, Marketing or Information Technology or other related field. Knowledge of select computer applications, methodologies used for reporting and analysis. General familiarity with Hospital information systems, personal computers and networking. Background in hospital operation and understanding of strategic information needs is preferred.
