Penn Nephrology at Pennsylvania Hospital is seeking an advanced practice provider to join their collegial group of providers located in the historical part of downtown Philadelphia, PA. We are looking for an individual that is committed to compassionate clinical care. This is the sole nephrology group at Pennsylvania Hospital which has 475 beds and is the nation's first hospital with a broad scope of highly respected medical and surgical programs. The APP will collaborate with Pennsylvania Hospital Nephrologists to manage care of patients with a broad spectrum of kidney diseases.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, no call coverage

Job Duties will include the following:

  • Assisting the physicians with outpatient clinic visits, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis visits, consultation work and managing patient electronic messages.
  • This position includes travel to dialysis units around the area.
  • The APP will utilize professional skills in interviewing, assessment, evaluation, identification and implementation of treatment plans based on the needs of each patient.
  • Responsibility for ordering of diagnostic procedures.
  • Offer counseling and education to meet patient needs and may need to prescribe medicine.
  • Interacts professionally with patients, families, and staff.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience managing patients with chronic kidney disease.

Graduate of an approved school of nursing or accredited PA program. CRNP/PA licensure in the State of PA Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner/PA Program with a MSN as applicable. National Certification Board is-required.
