Summary:
- The Quality Data Analyst gathers healthcare data from various sources within the organization to accomplish quality/performance improvement goals. The individual must have an understanding of healthcare quality and keep abreast of current -upcoming issues that require action to stay ahead of the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Provides data analysis to drive clinical and operational process changes which can lead to improved patient outcomes. Must have the ability to present information in a concise and effective manner with the ability to tailor messaging to the specific audience (e.g. physicians, senior management, department directors and managers, as well as front line staff.)
Responsibilities:
- Gather and integrate raw data from multiple disparate sources and translate data into meaningful, actionable, information
- Assist in data gathering and submission of data associated with Department of Health, Joint Commission, NDNQI, AHA-Leap Frog
- Utilize data visualization tools, such as Tableau. Present and explain information in clear and actionable ways to various audiences, including producing statistical process control charts (SPC) utilizing products such as MiniTab
- Assist with the implementation of process changes to improve the quality and accuracy of data captured by systems
- Compile, analyze and interpret data collected from monitoring activities to identify opportunities for improvement based on data analysis
- Act as application resource expert for quality and patient safety
- Ability to assist other team members in resolving problems and performing data analysis
- Ability to work with rapidly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and iteratively to develop solutions
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Statistics, Computer Science or other related field.
General understanding of Performance Improvement processes, including lean methodology. Knowledge of quality management/performance improvement/patient safety. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in Health Care data analysis using data sources such as Epic, Midas, Vizient, etc.
