Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.The Lead Advanced Practitioner will provide daily clinical and operational management for the advanced practitioners (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) on their service/in their service line in support of institutional and departmental missions. In this position, the Lead Advanced Practitioner will have the following responsibilities: leadership direction, development and maintenance of schedules, time and payroll management, orientation of new hires, staffing models, oversight of local credentialing for direct reports, and compliance with performance appraisal process and annual mandatory education offerings. The Lead Advanced Practitioner may have either a direct or dotted line reporting structure through the Department of Advanced Practice. The individual in this position will work with the Director/Associate Director of Advanced Practice, the APs on their clinical team, and collaborating / supervising physicians on best practices, the implementation of performance measures and other operational goals. All program development, support, and maintenance shall be accomplished through a team approach evidenced by strong communication and collaborations with Department of Advanced Practice. The Lead Advanced Practitioner, will have clinical responsibility for patient management on a daily basis as well as provide managerial functions.
Masters Degree Required as Nurse Practitioner. Current licensure as a NP in the state of Pennsylvania with Board Certification in specialty area.
Strong clinical background in specialty area preferred. Prior management/ supervisory experienced preferred.
