Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Full Time Unit Based Pharmacist to join the team! This is a Monday-Friday day shift position with the hours of 11:00am-7:30pm. No weekends are required.
Pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages through integrated drug distribution, clinical services, and provision of drug information. S/he collaborates with medical and nursing staff to ensure high quality, safe medication management. S/he ensures that all medication standards as documented in standard operating procedures and/or state/federal regulations are maintained. The Pharmacist also shares professional responsibility for oversight of Pharmacy Technicians’ work to ensure accuracy and timeliness of pharmaceutical preparations. The Pharmacist also shares responsibility for serving as a resource to patients and other healthcare professionals. S/he participates in continual process/quality improvement and demonstrates professional responsibility for ongoing personal development. This position performs decentralized unit – based pharmacy care to patients and other medical professional staff.
The following are general duties/responsibilities as pharmacist at Princeton Medical Center:
·Review orders for patients in the ED | ||
·Be available for questions from nurses / physicians | ||
·Assist with medication movement for patients transferred from the ED to an inpatient unit or discharged from the ED | ||
·Management of ED Pyxis device inventory | ||
·Collaborate with the ED Clinical Pharmacist (Rutgers adjunct professor) |
Training and Education:
- Assists in the training and orientation of new pharmacists/pharmacy residents. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature reviews, in-service meetings and workshops.
- Participates in the development and provides ongoing educational programs, with respective educational departments, for the pharmacy staff, students, nursing staff, medical and other health professionals.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree - Required
- PharmD - Required
Related Work Experience
- 2-4 years - Required
- 5-8 years - Preferred
Licensure, Certification or Registration Requirements:
- PharmD or BS pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy - Required
- Current New Jersey License to Practice - Required
- PGY 1 Residency Graduate - Desired
