Represents the hospital at community and corporate sites to deliver health education on a variety of health topics, conduct health screenings and provide education and individual counseling to participants at events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides education and individual counseling to clients utilizing only department-approved materials and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
2. Demonstrates the effort to stay current in evidence based guidelines for lifestyle management practices.
3. Demonstrates proficiency in the skills needed to perform screenings (ex. blood pressure, body fat analysis etc.)
4. Demonstrates appropriate use and care of equipment needed to perform assigned tasks (ex. screening devices, AV equipment for classroom setting)
5. Completes work assignments according to department-specific guidelines, policies and procedures
6. Represents the Hospital at all times in a favorable manner by being appropriately dressed, wearing a name badge, behaving in a professional manner and displaying excellent customer service skills.
7. Consistently arrives for assignments in time to conduct all set up activities prior to program/event start time.
8. Consistently fulfills assignments as scheduled and conducts a thorough post event clean up including equipment return as assigned.
9. Promptly communicates any problems or customer concerns to supervisor for immediate resolution.
10. Works independently, but takes direction and feedback well and maintains regular communication with supervisor.
Education Training and Experience
Current professional licensure, registration, and/or certification as RN, RD/LDN, CDCES, or RRT.
At least three years of experience in health education activities.
