Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant for our inpatient elective orthopedic service. Our orthopedic service is a busy service with complex surgical patients, including hip and knee arthroplasty, upper extremity, spine, and orthoplastics. The NP/PA is responsible for direct care management as well as collaboration with residents, surgeons, medical co-management, and consultants. The NP/PA will serve as the in-house covering provider for the orthopedic surgery patients and respond to urgent medical/surgical concerns, as well as facilitate transfer to higher levels of care when needed. The NP/PA is an integral member of the multidisciplinary clinical team on the surgical floor; he/she will collaborate with physicians, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and case management, and will lead daily multidisciplinary rounds.

The NP/PA is part of our unit based clinical leadership team, working on quality improvement and patient progression initiatives for the orthopedic service line. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with the outpatient orthopedic department to facilitate smooth/safe transitions through the entirety of a patient's surgical experience.

As a provider, you will be committed to delivering high quality and safe patient care. You will have the ability to coordinate multiple aspects of the patient's care for a high volume acute surgical floor at a high level of independence.

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Masters prepared Physician Assistant. Licensed in Pennsylvania
