Summary:

  • Responsible for the coordination, control, scanning, archiving and verification of all patient medical records for the practice. To maintain confidentiality of all patient documentation, whether paper or electronic files. To maintain daily work flow among all medical records personnel in order to insure accurate and timely filing of all records. To coordinate the scanning and implementation of an electronic medical records system with the practice team. To provide backup support to medical records techs and practice secretary. To serve as a liaison to management in the medical records area.

Responsibilities:

  • To process medical records requests, per established protocol. To retrieve accu-doc transcription documents, edit, copy, mail and file as needed. To retrieve, separate and deliver daily mail to physicians or support staff. To retrieve, separate and deliver daily mail to physicians or support staff.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

Related Work Experience 

  • At least 3 years experience with medical records in a practice or hospital setting required. 
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
