Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Nurse Manager, RN to join our team on the Critical Care Unit in Plainsboro, NJ. This is a full-time day opportunity.
The Llura & Gordon Gund - Center for Critical Care is a 24 bed unit, of which, 8 beds are designated as IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit). The Center for Critical Care is located on the 3rd floor (West Side) of the Atkinson Pavilion. The Critical Care Unit is a specialized unit in the hospital where patients with critical illness or injury receive extensive, round-the-clock care and monitoring. Through the program, the care of each patient in the ICU is carefully and closely managed by a compassionate team of intensivists. This model of care is known as a "closed" ICU, because the care of all patients is coordinated by staff intensivists.
A registered professional nurse responsible for visioning, overseeing, planning, organizing, evaluating and management of the following areas:
- Unit Budget
- Quality Improvement Plan
- Resource Utilization
- Human Resource Management
- Master Unit Staffing Plan
- Unit Risk Management
- Patient Satisfaction
Additional Responsibilities:
- Creates a customer-friendly environment consistent with the Medical Center at Princeton’s patient-care model. Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, their families, guests, representatives, as well as fellow employees, volunteers and medical staff. Supports the Medical Center’s mission to provide consistent quality health care services in a professional, caring and responsive environment.
- Assumes 24-hour accountability for unit functioning according to Medical Center at Princeton standards.
- Review the unit’s performance in relation to established goals implement change to effect continual improvement in the service provided and assure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Makes daily, patient rounds and communicates necessary information to Team Leaders to ensure high quality patient care.
- Through delegation ensure appropriate selection, training and supervision of patient care team.
Credentials:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse
in Critical Care (preferred)
- Master’s Degree or pursing a Master’s degree preferred, healthcare related field (preferred).
