Summary:
- Facilitates linguistic and cultural communication between patients seeking health-care services and their providers.
Responsibilities:
- Rendering all messages accurately and completely, without adding, omitting or substituting.
- Filling out Interpreter Service Form each day.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments for patients and departments.
- Translating Hospital materials on an as-needed basis.
- Covering for other interpreters when needed, being flexible with scheduling
- Assisting Manager of Interpreter Services with projects and initiatives when requested.
- Educating staff members on how to contact Interpreter Services.
- Educate staff on why we prefer to use trained interpreters instead of family members.
Credentials:
- Spanish Hlth Care Interpreter (Required)
- Certificate of Achievement/Interpretation required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Interpreter certificate preferred
