Summary:

  • The Performance Analytics Advisor works with the Performance Optimization Team to submit and interpret external productivity benchmarking data and guides initiatives and supports Team Leads in reaching benchmarking goals. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert on clinical/non-clinical best practices, performance improvement methodologies, and project management approach. The advisor will successfully lead teams through the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) cycle and is capable of managing a portfolio of 10 or more initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Articulates health care challenges, operating models, high-level value chains, volume/price relationships, and ways in which businesses generate revenue and incur costs.
  • Educates and coaches junior staff on concepts, changes in the industry and how their work impacts Performance Analytics and CCH.
  • Understands and articulates CCH’s competitive position, how external factors drive change, and position in the value chain.
  • Understands goals, articulates the significance of the problems CCH is facing, and understands how department will work towards alleviating these issues.
  • Tests and modifies financial models as well as builds components of well-defined, complex models or business cases.
  • Collects data, identifies good and bad data and develops an action plan to cleanse data as needed.
  • Analyzes data to determine patterns, develop insight, and structures an approach to data analysis and a solution hypothesis.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of working knowledge on the external benchmarking product of choice and collaborates and cross-trains with peers to ensures accuracy and timeliness of data submissions, and reporting.
  • Interprets financial reports and internal and external productivity benchmarking reports while educating Team Leads on concepts and interpretations of the data. Works to assure that benchmark data aligns to the benchmarking product’s definitions and is reflective of the department.
  • Identifies and prioritizes teams with the largest potential for improvement with the highest financial impacts to CCH for Performance Optimization projects.
  • Guides departments through the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) cycle by creating performance optimization focus groups that drive to the root cause of productivity issues facing departments and identify improvement opportunities within these departments. Develops a solution hypothesis for the problem, structures the data analysis, allocates responsibility to the team and pulls subject matter insights from various research and work threads.
  • Sustains and monitors improvements gained by developing control charts for all PIP process changes made by departments and reporting monthly at the department’s Monthly Operating Review meeting.
  • Understands and articulates the impact of Performance Analytics on the business function, the potential impact on associated functions, and how CCH makes decisions regarding the engagement.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key executives at assigned business units.
  • Reviews and finalizes team' findings and recommendations for executive presentations.
  • Works collaboratively with executive leads and team leaders to successfully complete the PIP cycle and associated deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Builds and maintains an internal network for information support.

Credentials:

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Green Belt or Black Belt

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or other applicable major 2+ years Experience in process improvement methodologies and application
  • Master of Arts or Science
  • Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or other applicable major 5+ years Operational and analytical experience, cross functional health care experience
