Penn Medicine is looking for a SharePoint Administrator or Senior SharePoint Administrator to join the Application Development Team.


Job Summary:
  • The SharePoint Administrator responsible for designing, creating and delivering technical solutions to meet a variety of business requirements for Microsoft SharePoint within Penn Medicine. Such solutions should be based on patterns and best practices around Content Management, User Adoption, Governance and Change Management to meet the developing needs of our user community.
  • Must have superior analytical, organizational, and communication skills and be able to balance technical and business objectives to meet end-users needs.
  • Must be able to work well independently, both within the Application Development team as well as with cross functional application teams, including clients throughout Penn Medicine. Ensure system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned application changes, and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Communicate all changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary internal department teams. May work with senior leadership on projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities: 
SharePoint Administration and Architecture-
  • Migrate large SharePoint 2013 farm to SharePoint Online. 
  • 1. Manage the Central Administration and Shared Services components of the on-premise farm, monitor the technical components of the infrastructure, install upgrades/service packs/patches.
  • 2. Design, plan, and execute backup/restore procedures.
  • 3. Partner with infrastructure engineer to design and execute disaster recovery plan.
With respect to SharePoint Online-
  • 1. Maintaining/configuring the SharePoint section of the tenant.
  • 2. Keep up to date with Microsoft updates and health reports and respond as necessary.
  • 3. Initiate and maintain communication with Microsoft regarding tickets and outages.
  • 4. Design, maintain, and improve usage reporting and analytics.
SharePoint Site Design and Development-
  • Lead SharePoint site design.
  • Assist the user community with how to leverage the capabilities of SharePoint.
  • Advise, assist, and support site owners with building and enhancing their sites.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled site owners/power users meetings.
  • As part of defined projects, provide help/support to site owners and project managers in developing their sites in accordance with industry and Penn.
  • Medicine best practices.
  • Plan, organize, and lead projects related to SharePoint design and development.
Daily Operations and Support-
  • Resolve SharePoint support issues as reported by site owners.
  • Contribute to the creation of, and work in accordance with defined support processes.
  • Participate in the definition of policies and governance around Penn Medicine’s use of SharePoint.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of troubleshooting materials and documentation. 
  • Ensures SharePoint 24-hour availability.
  • Ensures that SharePoint functionality meets all the business requirements of clients and the Penn Medicine.
  • Works with application administrators, users, IS staff, and vendors to manage the SharePoint environment.
  • Lead and participate in product and project planning, development of specifications, project plans and other supporting documentation and processes.
  • Serves as a resource to other team members, providing training, guidance and mentorship.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.
Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service to clients.
  • Self-motivated, efficient, and highly productive, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Robust knowledge and experience with MS SharePoint.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft technologies (operating systems, Office 365, Azure, cloud environment in general).
  • Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS logs, workflows, SharePoint forms, PowerShell.
  • Experience with third-party tools such as ShareGate and ShortPoint.
  • Exposure to healthcare information systems in the hospital and physician practice environment; for example, Epic EMR.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Development experience as well as knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSON, Javascript. Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps is a plus.
Qualifications:
Senior SharePoint Administrator:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required).
  • 4+ years of SharePoint Administration experience (Required).
  • 4+ years in a role that includes user support (Required).
SharePoint Administrator:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required).
  • 2+ years of SharePoint Administration experience. Additional experience may substitute for bachelor's degree (Required).
  • 2+ years of providing support to SharePoint users (Required).
