Summary:
- The Program Manager oversees program implementation and evaluation for the verbal de-escalation and workplace safety training program. The program provides HUP employees with the opportunity to complete training options based on risks encountered in their role. Under the direction of hospital executives, the incumbent assists the further development, progression and organization of the program and manages the day-to-day administrative functions of the operations, as well as develops and maintains key relationships spanning across all roles within the hospital settings.
- The Program Manager collaborates with stakeholders to develop and execute program implementation strategy, short and long term goals, operational goals and objectives. The Program Manager coordinates operational planning activities for the overall benefit of the verbal de-escalation and workplace safety training program. The Program Manager has direct oversight for all program aspects including marketing, program budget management, program planning and facilitation and development of a robust program evaluation plan to ensure program success.
- It is expected that this individual will be a strong program builder as well as strategic thinker. The Program Manager works collaboratively with hospital executives and various internal and external stakeholders. The role includes active participation on both system and entity councils, committees and initiatives aligned with prevention and/or reduction of workplace violence.
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies and procedures
- Oversee program growth and implementation in partnership with hospital stakeholders
- Provide operational support for administrative aspects of the program from class scheduling, instructor pool maintenance (scheduling, instructor certification compliance, maintenance of content integrity across instructors), license usage management and provide participant completion reports as needed.
- Function as Administrator for the program within the learning management system
- Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external Program Representatives, as applicable
- • Ex. Security and Behavioral Health Departments, Workplace Violence Committee, Patient Safety Department, department and unit leaders, program instructors, program participants and training company representatives
- Possess financial acumen through relationships with Contracts Department and vendors, including utilization of financial systems and websites pertinent to program management and budget (instructor certifications, licenses costs, participant materials)
- Remain proficient on HUP/UPHS Workplace Violence Policies
- Active participation on both system and entity councils, committees and initiatives aligned with prevention and/or reduction of workplace violence
- Promotes safe environment for staff and patients as a programmatic liaison in alignment with strategic priorities
- Respond to department and hospital workplace safety needs
- Work collaboratively with department leaders to promote program and implementation strategy through data analysis, survey results and environmental scanning
- Other duties as assigned to support the program, entity and health system
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Health Care Administration, Social Work, Business Administration or similar
