Summary:
- The Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Student/Chaplain Extern commits to learning and growing in competence and proficiency in the practice of spiritual care in a manner consistent with the Penn Medicine mission and values. Under the close supervision of a Clinical Pastoral Educator, the student participates in patient care as relates to individuals religious / spiritual experience. The student is committed to respecting the dignity, faith tradition, culture and/or philosophical world view of each individual and family.
Responsibilities:
- The CPE Student/Chaplain Extern attends t the assignments, directin and crrectin f the ACPE Certified Educatr. Prvides spiritual care t all patients, residents, families, hspital staff, physicians, vlunteers, and ther individuals in assigned clinical areas, cnsistent with the values f the Penn Medicine.The CPE Student/Chaplain Extern will functin as a member f a multidisciplinary team caring fr patients, residents, individuals, families and staff in an assigned clinical area, wrking cperatively with Staff Chaplains, Level I/II CPE Students and Supervisry Educatin Students.Attend and participate in all scheduled CPE training sessins, e.g.; seminars, didactics, supervisry cnferences.
