Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical and business professionals across all disciplines.Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking an full time RN to work the night shift within the Labor and Delivery unit.
Labor and Delivery department provides services to identify and respond to the obstetric and medical complications of pregnancy and labor and delivery of women 28 weeks or more gestation. If patient is stable with a gestation less than 28 weeks or a fetus that will require surgery or a higher level of care, the patient is transferred to regional perinatal center prior to delivery. If patient is unstable, then patient is delivered, newborn stabilized and then transported to a regional perinatal center.
Position Details:
• Patients are admitted directly from home, physician office, Maternal Fetal Medicine Department or from the Emergency Room
• Services include, but not limited to:
o Surveillance and care of all patients admitted to the obstetric service: Antepartum, Intrapartum, and high risk postpartum care
o Triage system for identifying patients at high risk who should be transferred to a facility that provides higher level of care (as noted above)
o 8 private labor and delivery rooms, 3 triage rooms, 2 obstetrical ORs, and 2 Jacuzzi rooms
o Detection and care of maternal fetal problems that may occur during labor and delivery; ability to care for high risk patients
o Capabilities to begin an emergency cesarean delivery within 30 minutes of decision
o Emergent D&C, Hysterectomy
o 24 hours availability of Anesthesia, laboratory and blood bank services
o Ability to resuscitate and stabilize all neonates
o Pain Management, comfort care
o Family Centered Care
o Lactation Services
Minimum Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of
Related Work Experience
• 15 months of recent nursing experience - required
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
• Active NJ Registered Nurse license - required
Nur• Basic Life Saving certification (BLS) - required
