Summary:
- Provides ancillary support in the delivery of safe quality care in the Emergency Department (ED) while under direct supervision of Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Responsible for managing equipment, supplies, and inventory in the Emergency Department and monitoring/maintaining the environmental conditions of the department. Has responsibility for ordering and stocking of supplies used for the Emergency Department, cleaning up and maintenance of equipment used in the provision of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily supply inventory and restock according to established par levels in areas including but not limited supply carts and patient care areas. Assists the Charge RN with restocking and cleaning the crash cart.Cleans, decontaminates, and performs high-level disinfecting of all reusable items and instruments such as video laryngoscope, Lucas device, carts, etc.Keeps hallways and overall appearance of ED neat, clean and free of clutter. Places trash in soiled utility/soiled holding room.Keeps equipment clean and ready for use. Troubleshoots equipment issues; and reports faulty equipment per protocol. Returns equipment and supplies to proper location at end of shift.Completes errands as directed including pickup and delivery of specimens, cultures, SPD items, pharmacy and mail.Communicates identified problems to the appropriate personnel.Transports Patients with visitors as needed.
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
