Location: Plainsboro, NJ 

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Available Shift Hours: Evening Shift: 1300 pm - 2130pm, Wed through Sun, Days OFF: Mondays and Tuesdays

***Evening shift will benefit from shift differential rates (3pm – 11 pm).

    Summary:

    • Enforces Hospital regulations, provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees by enforcing Hospital regulations and by continuously watching for and timely reporting of potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences through patrol of assigned areas. Investigates complaints or potential criminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services. Possesses and exhibits extraordinarily strong customer service skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prtect the establishment, its patients, visitrs, staff, emplyees and invitees against the hazards f trespass and ther crime, fire and ther emergencies. Aids the acutely ill and renders assistance t thse in need.Mans fixed psts and/r patrls hspital premises. Be alert fr fire, theft, accident preventin, water, il, gas r steam leaks, pwer, light and water waste, prperty damage, husekeeping matters, vilatin f wrk rules and cntrl f parking, traffic and ther matters particular t the premises being prtected. Keeps Supervisr infrmed at all timesAscertains the identity f all persns during the hurs f persnal ID and cntrl perids. Examine prperty and parcels being taken frm the premises, as a deterrent t theft.Prepares and submits written reprts in a cmplete and accurate manner; makes ntatins in lg f all incidents. Must maintain cmplete cnfidentiality. May be required t testify in curt pertaining t hspital and/r Security matters.Crss trains in ther lcatins beynd nrmally assigned wrkplace. Ensures all required training is up-t-date. May have t wrk ther shifts and/r lcatins as necessary.Must maintain all keys, equipment and unifrms issued. May be required t supervise thers t a limited degree when as assigned as temprary Supervisr and/r Lead fficer in charge (D..).Must wrk weekends, hlidays and vertime as required. May need t wrk special events as requested.Must be f gd character. Must be neat and clean in appearance. Must cmply with departmental dress cde and standardsfficers will cme int cntact with persns entering and leaving the hspital, including patients, visitrs and emplyees, in varius settings, such as waiting rms, treatment areas, and inpatient rms.Must perfrm wrk in extreme weather cnditins when assigned t duties utdrs. May be required t perfrm duties in high heat, damp and / r dusty lcatins, where security and rescue peratins are needed t be perfrmed. Expsure t physical injury exists due t pssible physical encunters when cnfrnting, restraining r apprehending persns when necessary.

    Credentials:

    • Driver's License (Required)
    • NJ driver’s license or valid license from the state in which the employee lives

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
    • Two years of previous experience in the security, military or law enforcement field preferred
    • Associate of Arts or Science
    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or realated field And/Or two years of previous experience in the security, military or law enforcement field preferred
