Summary: The chaplain shall provide pastoral care according to an inter-faith model to patients, families, and (where appropriate) staff members throughout the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Coverage hours, including on-call coverage, and assignments shall be negotiated with the Manager for Pastoral Care. The chaplain shall work as part of the multidisciplinary structure at the hospital, which is coordinated through interdisciplinary documentation and team communication and collaboration. Work as part of the Trauma Center follows particular protocols and involves special responsibilities, including the management of Trauma patients’ families.

Responsibilities: Provides pastoral care to patients and families (and staff, where appropriate) according to the department's interfaith model of Patient-Led Pastoral Care, as covered in the department’s Manual for Chaplains.

Education or Equivalent Experience: At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (required). Residency in Clinical Pastoral Education Program (preferred). Or Trauma chaplaincy Work at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
