Critical Care Director- Emergency Room and Critical Care Unit
Are you a seasoned healthcare professional with strong leadership skills? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and possess the expertise to managing Critical Care areas effectively? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Critical Care Director overseeing the Emergency Room and Critical Care Unit.
- As a Critical Care Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the operations of our busy and dynamic Emergency Room department and 24 bed Critical Care Unit. You will lead a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and work collaboratively to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Your strategic vision, leadership, and experience will be instrumental in driving excellence both departments.
- The Critical Care Director maintains the responsibility, authority and accountability for patient care administration and practice in defined areas of responsibility at PHBH and for the creation of an environment or culture that enables PHCS to fulfill its mission and meet or exceed its goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical leadership for patient care within the assigned clinical areas. Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, directing and evaluation of the clinical care. Accountable for the measurement, assessment and improvement in nurse-sensitive patient and organizational outcomes, as well as the assurance of a professional nursing practice environment in which registered nurses are autonomous, govern their practice and are empowered to provide effective, efficient, safe and compassionate quality care. Creates an environment in a defined area of responsibility that enables Penn Medicine to fulfill its mission, vision and values.
- Provides for and promotes a well-managed hospital and health care system, with clear lines of responsibility and accountability. Supports the governance to ensure a proper framework for the safety and the delivery of quality patient care, treatment and services practiced in defined areas of responsibility.
- Establishes effective strategies for programs and product/service line with the goal of increasing market share as well as overall day to day operational oversight of service line departments. Supports the mission, vision and values that is reflected in long range, strategic and operational plans, resource allocations and organizational policies. Provides organization, direction and staffing for care, treatment and services in defined areas at PHBH.
- Ensures that all services in defined areas of responsibility at PHBH are in accordance with applicable licensure requirements, laws, rules and regulations. Acts on reports and/or recommendations from authorized agencies as appropriate. Plans and implements a safety management program for defined areas at PHBH. Establishes plans, and priorities and manages the performance improvement process for staff in defined areas. Implements clinical practice guidelines, as needed. Provides a framework for developing, implementing, reviewing and revising these guidelines in defined areas of responsibility.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree: Science of Nursing (Required)
- Master's Degree: Science of Nursing Preferred
- 5-8 Years of Experience Required
- 8+ Years Preferred
- ANCC Certification as Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC) preferred or timeline to complete.
