Summary:

  • Maintains daily storeroom inventory PAR levels, orders replenishment stock. Maintains inventory accuracy. Assures confirmation of orders. Picks, pulls and delivers supplies and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Places daily storeroom order, assures confirmation of orders & manages all backorders with direct and third parties.Maintains all PAR levels, performs daily cycle counts and confirms inventory accuracy & assures stock is rotated and reviews product expiration datesReviews product deliveries verifying delivery, identifies discrepancies including review and clean-up of INRArranges for return of discrepant itemsReceives and reviews email receipts as neededMaintains and organizes a clean clutter free work environment per department policy.Develops and maintains accurate inventory records to include dates and product usage.Answers phone and field messages in a timely manner.Fills and distributes requisitions and purchase receipts from departments according to established schedules or after receiving telephone /pager requests.Participates in product evaluation / in-service trainingMaintains continuity of services in emergency situations (may be required to continue staffing during disaster codes or other emergencies)Establishes and maintains a professional rapport with both internal and external customers.Making sure all IV solutions are secured and locked in all areas of the hospitalDelivers securely medications to patient care areas in a manner that protects the safety and integrity of the medicationsMakes contact with various customers to ensure the adequacy of service provided, responds and resolves problems and complaintsManages backorder process communicating to all parties the status of any items on backorder and works with other Penn Medicine entities to secure productProperly disposes of all cardboard and packaging materialsCharges out products and processes returnsManages labeling process throughout hospitalCorrect and finalize all paperwork produced by other storeroom staffProcess credits for returned itemsIssue and charge out OR and CPD supply requestsStock individual areas as needed & stock all code cartsAnalyze hospital wide storerooms to reduce waste and unnecessary itemsUpdate leadership on a weekly basis of any outstanding issuesCreate new record in Lawson for storerooms, Par locations and new storeroom itemsWork with Lead Inventory Coordinator and Storeroom Supervisor daily to ensure value and accuracy of storeroomPerform daily maintenance of handheld devices to include, but not limited to, returning broken devices, securing back-up devices and testing of devicesPerforms all duties of storekeeper as needed and or directed by managementKeeps records and approves short absencesScreens applicants to ensure mandatory requirements are metGathers information on incidents that may result in disciplinary action and refers it to management for appropriate actionReceives recommendations/comments on performance evaluations from various people for whom the subordinate works, complies it into one official performance without adding any of his/her own inputs.Maintains a safe work environment in compliance with DOH, TJC and OSHA regulations.Interacts with various customers to ensure adequacy of service, responds and resolves complaints or problems.Creates and maintains an atmosphere of customer and service excellence with staff.Participates in department meetings, and action planning.Demonstrates an awareness of patient/employee safety when carrying out daily responsibilities.Follows all infection control, policies and procedures, i.e. scrubs, masks or standard PPE where appropriate.Follows all handwashing guidelines.

Credentials:

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
