Summary:

  • Represents the hospital at community and corporate sites to deliver health education on a variety of health topics, conduct health screenings and education to participants at events.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides education to clients utilizing only department-approved materials and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Demonstrates the effort to stay current in evidence based guidelines for lifestyle management practices.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the skills needed to perform screenings (ex. blood pressure, body fat analysis etc.).Demonstrates appropriate use and care of equipment needed to perform assigned tasks (ex. screening devices, AV equipment for classroom setting).Completes work assignments according to department-specific guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Consistently arrives for assignments in time to conduct all set up activities prior to program/event start time.
  • Consistently fulfills assignments as scheduled and conducts a thorough post event clean up including equipment return as assigned.
  • Promptly communicates any problems or customer concerns to supervisor for immediate resolution.
  • Works independently, but takes direction and feedback well and maintains regular communication with supervisor.

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
    • Or 5+ years Health education experience in lieu of degree Education Specialization: Community Health, Health Promotion or related field
    • Other (Required)
    • 3+ years Education Specialization: Experience providing health education to general public
