The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is seeking a full-time ambulatory Transplant Dietitian. The Transplant Dietitian is an integral member of the Clinical Nutrition Support Services (CNSS) department and our multi-disciplinary Penn Transplant Institute (PTI) team. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Attending in-person multi-disciplinary transplant evaluation clinics in addition to telemedicine and telephone visits with patients in all phases of transplant care.
- Participating in transplant selection meetings and discussing nutritional indications or contraindications as appropriate.
- Completing nutrition assessments, providing nutrition education and providing individually tailored nutrition recommendations for patients and the care team.
- Documenting in the electronic medical record according to CNSS policies and procedures.
- Providing timely communication to transplant coordinators, administrative staff within CNSS and other various team members as it pertains to scheduling and on-going follow-up.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and quality care.
Skills/Experience
- Inpatient or outpatient transplant experience (preferred)
Credentials:
- State of Pennsylvania Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) within 6 months of hire required
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required.
