Summary:

The qualified individual will work on moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects that require singular area of expertise, and work as a project team member or independently on small projects. The qualified individual will work closely with clients and IT team members to understand the departmental stakeholder requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with Institute and IT strategies and must be compliance with the Penn Medicine’s architectural standards. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Upgrade server applications.
    • Working with vendors to optimize applications.
    • Setup backup for servers.
    • Troubleshoot problems.
    • User support – 2nd level – trouble shooting and reporting.
    • Establish and maintain user and administrator accounts for applications.
    • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as required.
    • Maintain system documentation.
    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
    • Work closely with business and vendor to tune and troubleshoot applications. 
    • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.


        Education or Equivalent Experience:

        • Bachelor’s degree. (Required)
        • Minimum of 3 years of analysis and programing experience. (Required)
        • Experience working in application, systems or IT operations. (Required)
        • Healthcare experience. (Preferred)


          Skills/Abilities:

          1. Knowledge of an agile team environment and process
          2. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
          3. Working knowledge of two or more programing languages
          4. Comfort with frequent, incremental code, testing and deployment
