Summary:
- Complete supervision of all personnel in the Hematology and Coagulation sections for all shifts. The position is responsible for the competency testing for all staff and all shifts. Position is responsible for the oversight of all quality control, validations, preventative maintenance for all equipment. The position is responsible for the application of all regulatory agency standards. The position may perform assays as needed in both sections. The position is responsible for the application of any administrative functions as it pertains to each section.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accuracy and dependability and general quality of all assays for Hematology and Coagulation. Assures continued adherence to all regulatory agencies to insure ongoing accreditation. Implements and maintains quality control/preventative maintenance and reviews same on an ongoing basis for compliance to any regulatory agency. The position supervises all performance for proficiency assays and submission of same to the regulatory agency. Implements any hospital policies and programs and insures adherence to all policies and procedures for each section. Insures an attitude of organizational commitment fostering a positive work ethic.
Credentials:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
Related Work Experience:
- At least five (5) years' previous expereince
