The Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner (“NP”) or Physician Assistant (“PA”) will provide those services customary in the practice of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, including but not limited to performing pre-placement and periodic medical surveillance and transportation industry physicals, and managing occupational injuries and illnesses.
The position will be per diem with mutually-acceptable scheduled hours. The NP or PA, while providing quality patient care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, medical assistants and other members of the care team, ensures regulatory compliance, documents care according to standards, prescribes in accordance with State-mandated collaborative and/or supervisory agreements and State regulations, ensures quality assurance standards are met, maintains current licensure and credentials and conform to standards of practice as outlined by and will report to The Occupational Health Center Medical Director.
Education Training and Experience Licensure/Certification
The NP must be a graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) with emphasis on the NP’s specialty area, and possess current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or an equivalent body and current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The PA must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), with certification (a PA-C) from The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and current licensure as a physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The NP or PA must have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, with specific experience practicing Occupational Medicine preferred but not required.
